Actor Chadwick Boseman, known for his role in the film Black Panther, has passed away at the age of 43 after a 4-year fight against colon cancer.
The news was posted via the actor’s social media accounts tonight at around 10pm ET.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.”
“Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV.”
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”
“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.”

Boseman started his professional career in an episode of the TV series Third Watch, and went on to appear on “ER,” “Law & Order,” “CSI: NY”.
He made his first starring role in the film “42,” in which the played the role of baseball player Jackie Robinson.
In 2016, he started playing the role of T’Challa / Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and “Black Panther.”
Marvel Comics just released a short message via social media: “Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace.”
