Yesterday, GOG.com announced game publisher EA is giving away Syndicate Plus, Syndicate Wars, and Ultima Underworld I & II free of charge for a limited time.
This comes after EA removed the mentioned titles on June 28 from GOG. The removal led some fans to believe the games were going to be exclusives at EA’s Origin game distribution service.
Via a blog post at GOG.com, EA said the gams have finally returned to this game distribution service. Also, a forum post says fans can download the titles for free until Sept. 3 at 1PM EST / 5PM UTC.
“Syndicate and Ultima Underworld are back! It seems that twenty years on there’s still plenty of love for these titles so we’re pleased to confirm that effective immediately they’ll be available again on GOG, and we’ll be keeping them in the store for the foreseeable future,” says EA via GOG.com. “To celebrate this we’re offering these games as a free download for four weeks.”
Those who have already purchased the games can send the Syndicate titles to others as gifts. However, users who already have the mentioned Ultima games may receive the following message: “Ultima Underworld 1 & 2 cannot be purchased as a gift in your region at this time.”
