During the Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration (Xbox20), Microsoft announced the addition of 76 Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to its Xbox backward compatibility library on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
The surprise announcement comes two and a half years years after Microsoft had said in 2019 it had no plans to add more games to the library of compatible titles (archive). It seems like Microsoft listened to the fans once again.
Peggy Lo, compatibility program lead at Xbox, shared the news with fans. All 76 titles will have support for Auto HDR along with many others that will receive a graphical resolution boost.
In addition, 11 games will get FPS Boost support starting today, and other 26 titles already available on Xbox.
Three entire franchises that are coming back thanks to backward compatibility are Max Payne, F.E.A.R., and Skate.
