During the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase at the D23 2022 Expo, Marvel and Niantic announced a brand-new AR game called MARVEL World of Heroes.
Pokémon Go developer Niantic is currently working on an augmented reality mobile game that should be available some time in 2023.
“In MARVEL World of Heroes, players can create their own unique Super Hero identity and origin story. Players will need to patrol their neighborhoods to foil crimes, complete Super Hero missions, and thwart interdimensional threats. As players level up, they will unlock equipment and abilities, and will team up with Marvel Super Heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America and others to battle iconic Super Villains and save the Multiverse from cosmic and earthbound threats,” says the accompanied video info on YouTube.
The trailer released today shows three players using the powers of Doctor Strange, Cyclops and Thor.

Though no specific release date has been announced, the website says the game will enter soft launch “and will initially be available in limited markets for beta testing.”
Marvel fans can pre-register on the game’s website (archive) to be informed when the game arrives to their country.
