When it’s about asking that special someone for marriage, many people try to find brilliant ways to express their love and make that moment one to remember forever. In December of last year, Bernie Peng wanted to tell just that to his girlfriend Tammy Li. How did he do it? Well, she had been playing one game in particular: Bejeweled. How did he surprise her by playing the game she likes? As a software engineer, Bernie was able to make a Nintendo DS homebrew version of Bejeweled. Of course, Tammy also had to demonstrate her skills as a gamer in order to get to one specific level before her being able to see the surprise: a virtual set of jewels in the shape of a ring with the message Will you marry me? Her answer: Yes.
Yesterday, the couple got married in the state of New Jersey. This time, Tammy had a surprise for Bernie: an 18-inch-long DS-shaped almond wedding cake. The company that produced the original Bejeweled game, PopCap, was present at their wedding. PopCap contributed with the cake, hanging crystals, and lots of copies of the game Bejeweled 2 Deluxe. Ayer, la pareja contrajo matrimonio en el estado de Nueva Jersey. Esta vez, Tammy tuvo una sorpresa para Bernie: una torta de boda de almendra de 18 pulgadas de largo en forma de un Nintendo DS. La compañía que produjo el juego original Bejeweled, PopCap, estuvo presente en el matrimonio de ellos.
