Nintendo has been catching up in features other consoles have been offering already. So, what is Nintendo going to do now? Offer shows through the Wii console. Now that lots of people have gotten used to the Nintendo Channel in order to watch previews and other game-realted videos, the company will take the next logical step. According to Reuters, what it’s known so far is that both Nintendo and Japanese ad agency Dentsu haven’t announced what specific programming will be accesible, but mentioned cartoons and original shows will be available on the video distribution service starting in Japan early next year and later overseas.

However, this news leads to some other questions that still remain unanswered: How are users going to store the shows on the Wii if the space (512MB) is not even big enough for just a few TV shows on SD or HD? Will this mean a Wii hard drive is also on its way? If not, will we instead have to rely on SD memory cards?
