GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ LAUNCHES CONTEST ON iPHONE™ AND iPOD TOUCH® TO CROWN NEW WORLD RECORD HOLDER
Burbank, Calif., July 15, 2009 – Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Guinness World Records™ today challenged iPhone and iPod Touch owners to become a certified Guinness World Records record holder. By playing the “Video Game Score” challenge in the Guinness World Records game app and holding the world record for most points on August 15, 2009, one player will be immortalized by having their name recorded in the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer’s Edition as the iPhone gaming champion.
To participate, consumers first download the Guinness World Records game on the App Store. Once in the game they create a GameSpy account so their score can be verified and recorded remotely. Every player has a customizable avatar that roams the globe to find and enter competitions. The “Video Game Score” competition can be found in the Cape Canaveral area.
