Nintendo revealed earlier today three more fighters to the Super Smash Bros. universe, one of them a familiar in the franchise, and two brand-new fighters from the Fire Emblem series of games.
Captain Falcon is a familiar face in the Super Smash since the very first title. In today’s video, you’ll see him welcoming Lucina and Robin (male and female versions) in a fighting stage from Fire Emblem. Though another character from Fire Emblem was seen in the video, the one named Chrom, he won’t be back as a fighter but as an assist character.

Opinion: I’m glad to see Captain Falcon in the upcoming title; I just wish Snake gets to return as well. Perhaps seeing Captain Falcon, Snake and two other characters could make another group of character other players can identify with. We already have the 80’s famous characters group (Sonic, Mega Man, Mario, Pac-man), as well as the ones from Fire Emblem (Ike, Marth, Robin, Lucina), Pokémon (Greninja, Charizard, Lucario, Pikachu), Mario’s World (Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser), Legend (Link, Zelda, Toon Link, Sheik). Being the fourth game, perhaps these groups of four fighters could give us a more educated guess as to who may be mentioned in the near future if we organize the characters in a certain way.
