Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard is coming to Smash Ultimate

Terry Bogard, one of the main characters from SNK’s Fatal Fury, is coming to Smash Ultimate. The Nintendo UK page that mentioned that the fourth character was going to arrive from SNK wasn’t specific as to what fighter was going to be, but many fans of Fatal Fury and other SNK franchises were already guessing correctly in social media what character was going to be revealed.

Some gamers may not be familiar with SNK or Fatal Fury. SNK was one of the competing companies as they launched their own arcade games to their NeoGeo console in the early 1990s. Fatal Fury became SNK’s first fighting game for the NeoGeo.

Fans who have played Fatal Fury must have recognized the 16-bit style of the intro. The intro itself was cool enough to re-introduce the characters to fans.

Though the character is still in development, Terry will be making his Smash Ultimate debut on Nov. 15.

During the last few minutes of the Smash presentation, the one that followed tonight’s Nintendo Direct, Sakurai showed a bit of Bogard in a King of Fighters stage.

• Incineroar, Chrom and Simon Belmont Amiibo figures will be in stores on Nov. 15.

• More Mii Fighter costumes:
  Mystical Ninja starting Goemon (Swordfighter)
  Mega Man – ProtoMan (Gunner)
  Mega Man X – Zero (Swordfighter)
  Pokemon – Team Rocket (Brawler)
  Undertale – Sans (Gunner). The game’s creator went to Sakurai’s house to play Smash Ultimate with him. Wow!
