Splatoon 3 led the Japan game sale charts for the week of September 5-11, 2022, with 1,934,680 Switch copies sold in just three days. By itself, the third-person shooter Splatoon 3 made up 93.86593% of the total number of copies sold in that week, solidifying its successful launch.
In terms of sales, 98.675% of all game copies in the Top 30 were for the Nintendo Switch. This left Sony with just 1.325%, which is 19,976 PS4 copies and 6,975 PS5 copies sold, for a combined amount of just 26,951.
The 3D battle action game Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix landed in 9th place with 5,538 Switch copies sold and in 12th place with 4,034 PS4 copies sold.
Meanwhile, NBA 2K23, published and developed by 2K, made its Japanese debut in 14th place with 3,845 PS4 copies and in 20th place with 2,629 Switch copies sold.
Steelrising, developed by Spiders and published by Nacon and 3goo in Japan, was able to make the Top 30 list with 2,200 PS5 copies sold.
To close out the list of new titles, the strategy RPG Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent made the list in 27th place with 2,175 Switch copies sold. According to its Steam page, Acquire is working on an update for the game to be played in English, however, a date has not been announced yet.
