Japan game console sales for the week of October 10–16, 2022, were recently published by Famitsu.
Units sold were significantly fewer than in most prior weeks. Though it continues to be first in console sales, Nintendo sold 43,329 Switch units out of 67,177 (64.499754% of all consoles sold). It’s been quite a decline in sales with 62,100 Switch units for the week of October 3-9 and 70,565 Switch units for the week of September 26-October 2.
Meanwhile, Sony remained in second place with 20,297 PS5 units sold (30.21421% of all units sold in the week). This amount is higher than in the previously reported couple of weeks, with 5,545 PS5 for the week of September 26-October 2 and 18,076 PS5 units for the week of October 3-9.
Microsoft got to sell 3,551 Xbox Series units, just 5.286035% of all consoles sold from October 10-16. This amount is better than the one it got in the week of October 3-9 with only 797 units sold. However, the amount wasn’t close to the 13,064 Xbox Series units the company sold during the week of September 26-October 2.
