Rockstar Games announces Grand Theft Auto VI after trailer leak

After an early trailer leak shared on Twitter a day before its scheduled released, Rockstar Games officially released the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer.

“Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube,” says the company’s tweet on X.

According to the press release, GTA6 will make its debut in 2005 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There was no mention of another platform the game will be released for.

The 90-second trailer reminds fans of GTA: Vice City, the GTA title which was released for PS2 in late 2002. This time around, GTA6 introduces players to a young woman named Lucia. She appears in some scenes alongside her male partner.

“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” Rockstar Games Founder Sam Houser said. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
