Today, EA studio Ghost Games announced Need for Speed Payback, the next chapter in the company’s racing franchise, is coming to stores worldwide on November 10th. Payback seems to be borrowing the style of action/adventure from The Fast and The Furious, mainly because of the epic cop pursuits, car battles, and the “gripping story of betrayal and revenge.”
According to EA, this upcoming game won’t just be about who crosses the finish line first or who’s the best racer.
“Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games,” said Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games. “We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.”
So, what’s the story on Payback about? Three characters (Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; Jess, the Wheelman) in Fortune Valley seek vengeance against The House, a wicked cartel corrupting the city’s cops, casinos and criminals.
