Google acquires game developer Typhoon Studios

Today, Google announced the acquisition of game developer Typhoon Studios, an independent studio currently working on Journey to the Savage Planet.

With the acquisition, members of Typhoon Studios will join Google’s “first Stadia Games and Entertainment studio” located in Montreal. Sébastien Puel will be in charge of the Typhoon team.

The recent acquisition will not hurt the upcoming release of Journey to the Savage Planet, coming to various platforms on January 28, 2020.

For now, the priority for Stadia Games will be “on integrating the team from Typhoon Studios into Stadia Games and Entertainment.”
