Today, Apple introduced the iPhone 12, with 5G network technology for the very first time. It’s a new design for iPhone devices, though owners of the iPad Pro may see some similarities.
The iPhone 12 lineup features the A14 Bionic processor (as seen on new iPads), Super Retina XDR (for better OLED screens), magnetic disc (to use it in conjunction with the MagSafe accesories for wireless charging), a “ceramic shield” (to protect iPhones), plus 12-megapixel wide and ultrawide cameras.
Besides the sizes, what separates the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max from the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are the premium design, an extra camera (telephoto), water resistant, 4K @ 60fps recording, better low-light performance, LiDar sensor (for better AR expereince) and Dolby Vision HDR. The iPhone 12 Pro Max gets a larger battery, of course, for the biggest iPhone yet.
The Pro models will be available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, in four colors, starting at $999 for Pro and at $1,099 for Pro Max. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models, in four colors, starting at $799 and $899 respectively.
Customers can pre-order the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro starting this Friday in more than 30 countries, with availability on October 23. Pre-ordering for iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will start on November 6, with availability on November 13.
