With the success of the first film, Shigeru Miyamoto announced today on Mar10 Day via Nintendo Direct that Nintendo and Illumination are already working on the next Super Mario Bros. film. Producer Chris Meledandri also joined to confirm their work on the upcoming animated movie. The film will make its debut on April 3, 2026, in the US and other countries.
Nintendo also announced the release dates for two other remakes coming soon, along with three other classic Game Boy titles coming via Nintendo Switch Online.
