The Game Awards 2024 is set to be an interesting event, honoring the finest achievements in the gaming world. This year is particularly special as it marks the 10th anniversary of the awards, and the competition seems intense. Leading the nominations are Astro Bot and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, each with seven nods. Not far behind, Metaphor: ReFantazio has garnered six nominations, while both Balatro and Black Myth: Wukong have received five. In terms of developers, Sony Interactive Entertainment leads the pack with 16 nominations across its various titles. Following closely are Square Enix and Xbox Game Studios, each garnering 12 nominations. SEGA also makes a strong showing with 11 nominations.
The nominations for the Game of the Year left some fans disappointed at they were hoping to see Stellar Blade and Silent Hill 2 Remake and not a game’s DLC, as in the case of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.
