The game studio formerly known as Square Enix Montréal has now become Studio Onoma. It’s the studio’s new name after Embracer Group acquired it along with Eidos and Crystal Dynamics from Square Enix for $300 million USD.
The studio is known for creating the GO series of games such as Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO and Deus EX GO. It was founded as Square Enix Montréal in 2011 as a traditional game development studio before changing its focus to mobile games in 2013.
The rebranding process started in May. Onoma (όνομα) means name in Greek.
